His Icy Lips

When did his fiery lips become so cold?
When my lips are forever red-hot and ready
for his velvet masterful lips to make their demands,
so strong---but pliable am I in his hands.

I recall the beginning of our love’s burning passion so deep within our hearts to be completed, reaching down into the abyss of our very souls,
Making each kiss a passionate tournament as it reached its goals.

Not once did we falter in our ardent bliss,
nor did we skip a beat nor any landing kiss proved a miss,
Never---a day did pass without our lips strong and warm dipping into the taste of ardent honey
leaving feeling of love to recall,
No this was not just for a short time---not at all.

My heart wants to know---where his lips are going now,
Who tastes his skilled lips? Why and how?

When an appetite for love does no longer hungers
it should warn other hearts and lips---so the ache is
not such a fierce sharp blow---doing the love asunder.

So when did his sizzling lips become cold and not so bold?
Maybe a warning is being sent, to make one wonder
not what was said---but what was meant.

It is a time to ponder that his cold lips---now are icy,
Not hot or spicy, but freezing and indifferent, not caring
of the hurt to anyone’s waiting heart, not one
thought from his icy lips, no passion from them---no loving nips.

So ladies here is my solution to any ice cycles thrown by way,
My lips are ready to play another day, so I will say----go your
merry way---and please do stay,

And you better stand back---to remain out of my way,
Because no man who turns icy on me---will ever be free of the

memory of my lip’s honey taste their waiting eagerness for
equal love so rich, sweltering to meet and sway.

His Darling “Pumpkin”

She was his sweetheart all through their married life,

And her nick name was ‘Pumpkin’ his darling wife.

The children came---eight children/seven boys total---to the farming pair,
Love and many blessing sprinkled with the normal despair.

At 4:00 a.m. every morning their day began with morning kisses,
And to each  ‘Happy Day’ wishes.

She fixed breakfast as he milked and
fed the cows,
Then the older boys led the horses
out to the corrals.

While the younger boys cleaned the
stalls and laid fresh hay,
Beds for the horse’s nightly stay.

The only daughter helped her mama in the
house until they went to the fields,
Mama walked fast---with the baby girl right on her heels.

In the fall was pumpkins season, a good
living they made,
They were cut when ready and laid under the oaks in the shade.

Their Daddy kissed his Darling Pumpkin while
the kids giggled and stared,
The farmer and his pumpkin---their love was shared.

Every year the same crops were planted with celebrations
under the harvest moon,
The farm neighbors were invited to share their food
and danced long into the afternoon.

Now the children were grown and in the summer
grandchildren came to stay,
The farmer and his ‘Pumpkin’ were so happy
their life turned out this way.

In their late eighties they rocked on the porch and
laughed at the memories recalled,
Holding hands and kissing---he sang softly to his
sweetheart ‘Pumpkin’ she was enthralled.

50 years later under the Oak trees in the pumpkin field
---two tombstones stood facing the sun,
On her stone was written, My Darling Pumpkin---
always by my side---we are not done.

On the nights of the harvest moon---all believers say,
the farmer and his pumpkins danced the night away,
Written as a footnote---‘Our spirits are here to stay.’

Ascending Glowing Spirits

I saw his callus arthritic hand caress her sweet lined face,

And I heard him whisper: “My Darling, another time and place,

we are born in this old world not winning the death race.”

Her wrinkled face---wet with tears,

The abundance of dampness seemed to erase the lines and years,

Standing next to his dying bed, he left her without any fears.

When his glowing spirit rose above the old body no longer needed,

Now a youthful body with hair growing where preciously receded,

Reached out to her and smiled as coaching was unneeded.

Their afterglow stayed awhile as their spirits faded away,

To live in another time and another day,

Will this ending be for all---or was it just their way?

Love every moment of life---I faintly heard the words---

that ascended from the ground,

Infinitesimally sounds which echoed all around,

The two shimmering Angels were upward bound.

I will never tell what happened on that day,

Because I wait my turn for a love to come my way,

And, love me like he did her so long ago---I pray.

Summer Time Romance

The end of summer fun was drawing near,
Reflection of this brought her fear.

As she would never see him in college in the fall,
His beautiful dark eyes that followed her down the hall.

She would be gone and so would he,
And her heart would not be free.

He was off to play pro football, many states away,
Will he ask her to wait? Or say he will call her every day?

Tonight was their last date and she hopes it ends with joy,
Or has she been his summer toy?

He arrived at seven as he always did,
She hoped her face was showing happiness and her fears were hid.

He kissed her hand in front of her Dad,
Her Dad thought he was a brave lad.

They joined others for a last night fling,
With slow dancing so close and sweet as their
bodies swayed and touched,
While in her ear he did softly sing.

Too soon it time to go and home they went,
What had this last date meant?

He walked her to the door and softly kissed her good-night,
Then he said I will be home for Christmas---maybe I will see you then,
Yes—I might.
Then he walked down the sidewalk and did not look back,
Five months before Christmas, no promised call, her heart was bruised---
As if it were attack.

No man mistreats me like this---Mr. Pro Football,
I am never home for you and will not answer if you call.

No more summer romances,
For me, or no more slow dances.

I will be a popular college freshman and never serious,
I will remain happy but mysterious.

No more giving my heart to an uncouth jerk,
I will stay unattached, study and work.

My man will come into my light one day,
And then I will not need to wait,
Because he will love me right away.

So, don’t waste a moment of being unappreciated,
He who loses is the one who hesitated.

Spiraling Memories Recalled

Swirling sands of time

quickly filtering through my mind,

inundating my heart with memories of

sadness and happiness intertwined.

Seeds of remembrance germinated,

introducing tears not waited.

My skin recoils but still recalling,

his sweet kisses were not stalling.

Can such prominence overwhelm a heart

with such titillation?

noting his masterful lips were high station.

He waited not for my displeasure,

as I always gave with full measure.

My words bounced off him without a sound,

as he slowing laid me on the ground.

With warriors waiting on mounts,

he gave not thought---only recounts.

Of his great love safely in his chest,

waiting for his return to test.

He never gave up his warrior heart,

to the enemy---even in death did it depart.

The day his men brought him home,

my heart died---for now it was alone.

I cleansed the blood from his sword,

and emptied sweet red wine from his gourd.

I kept his gourd and traced where once

his sweet lips drank,

my fingertips were frank.

Such memories I could bury deep,

if our son did not resemble him asleep.

Of all the gifts he gave,

I love only my little warrior brave.

Time is the enemy of all mankind,

ticking away with no design.

I crave the journeys we had eons ago,

even in the blizzards and deep snow.

He wrapped me deep in furs with my

naked body next to his,

to keep us warm and alive---no shame---just is.

Many trips and miles roamed,

now I crave him homed.

Dust to dust we are born then die,

with never time to say a full goodbye.

Now living for my child,

I will see you my darling in a little while.

When he is a man so strong,

he will not feel wrong,

when his mother is gone.

So only then will I come to where I belong,

happily singing our love song.

Sunshine and Black Clouds

           I Felt the Sunshine Disappear

Our love has bounced from the sunshine to darkness of life,
It takes it longer to shine brightly through issues and strife.

Many lovers face a rough patch,
So---true love must be a perfect a match.

Lovers may laugh---but more often she will cry,
If this happens---I am asking why?

Love is not a job---where one needs to work,
True love comes naturally---it is not a clerk.

Rainbows and sunshine will always be,
Present for true love as far as I can see.

Life has its ups and downs,
But true love will keep it on rock-solid grounds.

So now I face the ultimate task,
Of finding someone who is not wearing a mask.

For if love is not true from you to me,
Then my time is wasted as far as I can see.

There is someone who waiting for me---I am sure,
But your kind of non-love is not for me to endure.

So come to me sweetly---
lover of my future dreams,
I wait so faithfully for all that it means.

Youth Revisited

                        Rebecca

I can hear Mama calling me over the tree tops,
Come home Rebecca---no in-between stops.

I told my friends on the next farm--- good-bye,

And as I walked home so happy and tired I could die.

The dirt road was hot in the summer heat,

But the warm sand felt good between my toes and feet.

My old dress is raggedy and torn,

My favorite farm dress---made me look forlorn.

My long blonde hair in pigtails down past my waist,

Mama called again---I made haste.

Papa came in from the fields,

He was followed by my brothers on his heels.

Our farm house was larger than most,

It gave an air of its country host.

Mama’s roses surround the house,

Papa smiled but---he was quite as a mouse.

He always kissed Mama when he came home,

They always held hands when they were alone.

So I am sixteen and the year is 1910,

Will I find someone to love again?

My boyfriend on the next farm,

Was boring---he lacked charm.

My brothers give guys the “Evil Eye”

Before they can say “Hello” it is “Bye.”

Now I will go to college Pa said,

I will go with my two brothers---Joe and Fred.

Who said being young was the thing,

I tell you this ---it does not make me sing.

Will I look back one day and state?

Those were the best days of my life---better not temp fate.

Maybe You Will Think of Me Someday

I Talked to the Man in the Moon

Maybe you will remember how my blue

eyes shined with love each time I looked at you.

How my swollen lips desired being kissed,

And will I be missed?

How my silky skin trembled under your touch,

And maybe you missed it too---so very much.

And just maybe you will remember how much love
filled my heart,

I hope you are lonesome since we’ve been apart.

Do you sometimes remember---how good my body felt?

Pressed against your rippling muscles---my heart did melt.

And I remember how your fingers combed through my blonde hair,

While I trembled with pure joy of your touch---you said it was so fair.

Each day now the memories wash back against the
shores of my mind,

To wait for another love somewhere in time---I pray
he will be more kind.

Why you left me without a word,

Cruelty of that nature is unheard.

So if sometime you think I will take you back,

I will say, ”My Darling---I do not back track.”

I am a one chance---one man kind of gal,

You are pushing your luck with me Pal.

My life will go on in time,

I will find another sweet love---so sublime.

My February Love

I freely give my Love----to you,

I shyly smile into your----eyes of blue.

My heart beats fast----as you pass by,

You turn your handsome head----as I give a sigh.

Emotions accelerates,

As passions punctuates.

The raw throbbing----of my heart,

Notes time stand still----when we are apart.

So, I give you this symbolic card----in red,

Curved and pointed----representative of my love instead.

I will simply ask----“Will you be mine?”

My handsome very precious----“Sweet Valentine.”

I Watch My Darling Sleep

I Watch My Darling Sleep

I watch as he breathes in and out,

His face so handsome I want to shout.

But I would wake my sleeping prince so doubt.

His hands are perfect with fingers long and thin,

And I love the dimple in his chin,

Yes, I thank you Dear Lord for him---Amen.

His eyelashes so black and long,

Only to him does this beauty belong,

There must be about such loveliness---a song.

When awaken his blue eyes shine with love,

In the early morning before---the nesting dove,

I playfully give him a shove.

His full lips are ready for a kiss,

And I tell him---do not miss,

Because he gives me such good morning bliss.

My gift of precious perfection,

He has all my affection,

He would win any election.

My sweet Darling bundle of joy,

God’s gift to me---my loving baby boy,

And I will love him always ---he is my real McCoy.

You Touched My Heart

You Touched My Heart

When you walk close to me at work,

It feels so good---but it still make my heart hurt.

Because you are with another,
And she flirts with my brother.

But I hope you will see,

One day clearly--- what you mean to me.

The sun still shines and the white clouds still flow,

And when you look my way my face will glow.

I will wait forever for your love,

Maybe you will be awakened by an Angel from above.

From 9 to 5 my heart is alive,

At night I barely survive.

Without your presents near in the workplace,

My heart barely does race.

So when you are done with make believe,

I will wait for you as I grieve.

Be My Valentine Forever and a Day

Be My Valentine Forever and a Day

He said

My heart is yours forever and a day,

No one will ever take my love away.

She said

My lips are waiting,

Please no hesitating.

He said

My lips will take a happy journey to meet your luscious ones,

May we have many strong sons.

She said

Our future starts now---in our love bed,

Full of red roses sprinkled with chocolate kisses laid at our head.

He said

Three sons and a daughter will please me greatly,

I will forever be thankful

She said

Done my Darling now come to bed.
